it’s a fast paced life, they said, walking won’t suffice. running isn’t my forte and each step i take feels inadequate. never quick enough to catch up and i am forever left biting the dust, with scraped knees and clenched fists. i can only watch from behind, hidden in the tall shadows of those who bask in the warm light of their glory while i cry out of fear in the darkness. there are no breaks, no stops, only a bullet trains speeding by. but my feet are weathered by the rocky paths i have taken and no longer have the strength to carry on, on this death journey.
you can’t afford to fall anymore, can you?
